Get Involved!

We need you! Exeter Pride relies on funding, sponsorship, local business and local people to help make it a big success. This is where you can help…

Exeter Pride  is committed to keeping Pride Day a FREE event for everyone in the LGBT communities and their friends. Exeter Pride wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations received and the fund-raising efforts of so many local businesses and individuals. These efforts – together with the generous sponsorship from our partners – all help to make Exeter Pride remain FREE!

Volunteers

Exeter Pride  is an entirely Volunteer led organisation, we have a board of five elected trustees and a small, but dedicated volunteer committee. All of the day to day running of Pride is carried out by these people. We have meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month and absolutely anyone is welcome to attend them.

Other Volunteering Opportunities Include:

  • Parade Stewarding – This is a very popular volunteering opportunity, where you take a very important role in the successful running of the parade. You will be expected to help keep everyone on the Parade safe and ensure they enjoy what has become a very popular march through the city centre with music, fancy dress, and a 50 metre rainbow flag. In 2012 there were around 1,500 people at the parade and our numbers are growing!
  • Volunteers on the day – Volunteers really are an important aspect of Pride at the Phoenix Centre, where anyone that wants to take up this role really will be one of the faces of Pride to everyone that attends as well as the general public. We need cheerful, helpful people to assist with showing people where to go and also do some back ground stuff like helping to set up rooms for specific events and making sure that our workshops are well attended by getting out there and letting people know whats happening! This will be through out the day on Pride day as well, from 8:30am until 6:30pm. There may also be opportunities at the Evening Events as well.
  • Various other activities in the lead up to the main event – like goody bag stuffing, helping out at fund-raising events and the like.

Volunteering provides people with the opportunity to shine as well as make new friends and play your part in ensuring that Exeter Pride  is inclusive and open to all.

Sponsorship

Exeter Pride  is a FREE event therefore; it relies on the financial support from a number of local organisations and businesses.

Exeter Pride can provide an excellent opportunity to those brands that feel they can identify with the LGBT communities and share our aspirations and values. So, if you would like to collaborate with us or request your pride sponsor pack, then please get in touch with us. For a more detailed view of our current 2012 supporters, see our sponsors’ page here.

Exeter Pride  would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to all our sponsors and partners without whom this FREE festival would simply not be possible..

Stallholders

Exeter Pride  has it’s very own market and community stalls provision within the Exeter Phoenix complex, and where the most people/foot-fall will be on the day!

The market area is an integral part of Exeter Pride. It annually features not only many community stalls but also stalls which are being run by organisations either directly connected to, or which liaise with, the LGBT communities.

Fundraising

Fundraising helps support the event and ensures its viability. If everyone that attends Exeter Pride donated just a few pounds or whatever they can afford, this will ensure that the event develops and grows year on year and one that is open to all and remains a free event.

Here are just some ways that you can help raise funds for Exeter Pride:

Organise a fundraising event!
