The Exeter Pride March is one of the biggest and brightest events in the Devon events calendar, with 1000s of people pouring out onto the streets to participate in and watch on as an all-singing, all-dancing carnival of colour.
The road closures cost Exeter Pride a considerable sum of money and to cover these costs there will be a scale of charges depending on your type or organisation..
The twelth annual Exeter Pride will include the always popular rainbow flag march from the Cathedral Green in central Exeter, up Exeter High Street, turning left at New North Road and left again on to Bailey Street, leading in to Northernhay Gardens, Exeter Phoenix, Exeter Library and Rougemont Gardens, where a packed programme of activities will await.
The march will begin at 11am and will include community groups, firefighters, police, students, trade union and business LGBT+ groups plus individuals.
This year’s event will include a colourful rainbow flag march through Exeter, and volunteers are wanted to help carry the enormous 50-metre rainbow flag. The march will include music, dancers, bikes and much more. Representatives from community groups and organisations as well as individuals will also be taking part to show their support.
Entertainment will include live bands and cabaret acts on the stage and there will be a marketplace with more than 85 stalls, including many food stalls, Main bar, Trade Unions, local businesses and charities, along with information and advice from local, national and international organisations, as well as demonstrations and fun activities.
Entertainment on the main stage will continue throughout the afternoon and include many local acts. The main stage will close at 6pm.
Rougemont Gardens will host the Family zone, with many children's and family-friendly activities.
As usual Exeter Phoenix will continue to host daytime and evening events.
There will be the usual bar with music on the Terrace with some daytime activities taking place.
The evening events at Exeter Phoenix will be entry by wristband only (£5) with all proceeds going to Exeter Pride.
