We’re finalists at the Exeter Living Awards!
We’re a finalist! The Exeter Living Awards are an annual event that honours outstanding businesses and organisations in Exeter and their contributions to the local community and economy.
We are honoured to be a finalist this year in the Community category alongside many other amazing organisations, such as The Baby Room Exeter, Love Food and Football Fun Factory.
We are up against tough competition for the award, but even for Exeter Pride to be a finalist and receive this recognition means a lot to our committee and trustees. Our fabulous Exeter Pride family work tirelessly all year round to put on a Pride event that our community can be proud of. They all do this around their own jobs, family commitments and other community obligations, giving what they can, when they can, to ensure Exeter Pride is fun, vibrant, inclusive and accessible to all.
Exeter Pride has undergone a lot of change in the last few years with the majority of the committee having joined in the last 18 months. It has been a learning curve for a lot of us, myself included, but the support we have received from the local community and the constructive feedback has helped us continue to grow over that time. So thank you to all who have helped us along the way!
Finally, I would just like to express my thanks to Exeter Living Awards and its sponsors for including us in your finalist list, and we look forward to the awards ceremony on the 16th October.
Receiving this recognition for our event in the current troubled political landscape with attacks on the rights and freedoms of many within our community is a brave and bold statement and we thank Exeter Living Awards for their love and support.
Cross your fingers, toes and everything in between for us on the 16th October and have a great summer, and remember the sun cream!
All the love
Russell Back, Chair of Exeter Pride
