Celebrating Trans Pride Exeter’s First March 2025

Trans Pride Exeter’s first ever march took place on the 4th October 2025 and saw trans persons, non-binary individuals, and allies gather at Dix’s Field before heading out on the inaugural procession through the town centre. The newly-formed Exeter team of Trans Pride advocate for and raise awareness of the issues experienced by trans and non-binary persons in the South West.

From impactful speakers to poetry and drag acts, it was an exciting day despite the weather! This was followed by a community afternoon featuring live music in the cafe at St Sidwell Centre, an art market, short films and workshops. Attendees may have caught a screening of the two-part film Dear Wes… which explored the personal impact of being trans in the UK. But that wasn’t all - there was a debut of a new short film by ourselves, Exeter Pride, which provided insight into the experiences of non-binary and trans individuals as part of the 15 Years of Exeter Pride Heritage Project.

Thank you to all the brilliant people involved - from the volunteers to the lovely attendees. For details of future LGBTQ+ events, make sure to keep an eye on our newsletter, social media accounts and website.

“The first ever Trans Pride Exeter was a clear demonstration of solidarity and support from across the Exeter community for our Trans community. Seeing the number of people that came out in the wind, rain and hail to show their support was a powerful display that demonstrated this city embraces everyone. The job of fighting hate and discrimination is, however, not done and we must continue to stand up and ensure our voices are heard!”

-Roscoe, Exeter Pride’s Secretary
